A security guard shot a man suspected of assaulting his mother at a Fort Worth apartment complex early Sunday, police say.

Christopher Young, 46, was involved in a domestic disturbance with his mother about 1 a.m. in the 800 block of Boca Hill Circle, near Boca Raton Boulevard, police said.

Police said the apartment security guard used pepper spray on Young after the guard attempted to intervene and was pushed down the stairs.
