The father and stepmother of a teenager were asleep when he shot them early Wednesday, DeSoto police say.

Robert Dixon Sr. told an officer that “he and his wife were asleep when he suddenly heard the loud noise and pain in his body,” according to an arrest-warrant affidavit.

Dixon, 47, was critically injured after being shot several times in the abdomen, back and upper thigh. His wife, 49-year-old Parrish Dixon, was dead.
