Inmate who lost foot while fleeing from authorities accused of attacking Fort Worth jailer Claire Z. Cardona

An inmate who previously lost a foot after a chase with authorities scratched a Tarrant County sheriff’s deputy in the face Wednesday afternoon while he was being transported from a Fort Worth hospital, officials said.

The jailer was taking 31-year-old Victor Ramires, who is in a wheelchair, back to the Tarrant County jail from John Peter Smith Hospital when Ramires fell out of the wheelchair or pretended to fall, Tarrant County Sheriff Dee Anderson said.
