Dallas Police Association endorses Caraway for county commissioner Tasha Tsiaperas

The Dallas Police Association is endorsing former Dallas City Council member Dwaine Caraway for Dallas County Commissioner.
The Association released Tuesday a full list of its endorsements in the commissioner, legislative and judicial races.
The selections were made a month ago, before a video was released Monday showing Caraway involved in a fight with longtime political rival Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price at a gospel radio station.
But the DPA is continuing to endorse Caraway after the dust-up because “Dwaine was a strong supporter of law enforcement during his tenure on the City Council,” DPA spokesman Brian Mayes said.
The candidates were selected based on their stances on law enforcement issues.
“Protecting the families, businesses and schools of Texas is one of the most important responsibilities of our elected leaders,” said DPA president Ron Pinkston in a written statement.
