A suspect has been arrested in the theft of 160,000 diapers from a Dallas charity.

Roderick Phillips, 39, is a former employee at Captain Hope’s Kids, Dallas police said. He was arrested Oct. 22 on a charges of theft and evading arrest, and has since been released on $2,500 bail.

In the meantime, the charity has gotten plenty of help to recover from the loss of $34,000 in diapers.

AdvoCare International, a Plano health and wellness company, donated $15,000 to Captain Hope’s Kids and held a diaper drive all last week.

“Wow. That was the first reaction,” said Jeanne Reyer, executive director of Captain Hope’s Kids. “AdvoCare has worked with us in the past. This surpassed anything they have done. It was really needed. [Their support] had emotional impact. It helped us feel better.”
