Police: Azle officer fatally shoots armed man Claire Z. Cardona
A man was fatally shot after advancing with a handgun toward an Azle police officer Sunday night, police say.
Azle police were called to the 600 block of Alameda Road about 8:20 p.m. after a report of a man firing a gun. When the first officer arrived, he told the man to drop the weapon, police said.
Police said the man instead advanced with the handgun pointed toward the officer. The officer fired, striking the man multiple times in the torso, police said.
