Allegations of polygamy plague North Texas doctor accused of Medicare fraud Naheed Rajwani
A North Texas doctor facing Medicare fraud charges is now accused of having multiple wives, KTVT-TV (CBS 11) reports.
Dr. Angel Claudio is one of six people indicted in federal court last month on charges tied to health-care fraud. Court records say they billed Medicare more than $13.4 million based on false claims for home health services.
According to the indictment, Claudio’s role in the alleged scheme included certifying people who didn’t qualify for Medicare and weren’t under his care for home health services. He was employed by a Dallas-based company called Texas Medical Housecalls at the time.
The allegations about the doctor’s professional life, which includes 28 years of practice in Texas, have also led to allegations about his personal life.
