Garland police are investigating after a man was found dead in his apartment Thursday.

Robert Mills, 69, was discovered lying dead on the floor during a welfare concern check around 12:30 p.m. in the Colonial Apartments in the 500 block of Flook Street.

Detectives believe Mills was involved in a struggle before his death, police said.

The medical examiner will rule on the cause of death.
