The Hastings Family

Dallas police said Wednesday afternoon there are no updates on the search for a suspect in the slaying of 18-year-old Zoe Hastings, who was found Monday in the family’s minivan along a creek near White Rock Lake.

A $10,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the killing of the recent Arts Magnet graduate, who was last seen driving to her nearby church Sunday afternoon. But so far, police say, their search continues. For now, all they have to go on is information provided by Joe Noriega, who told police he was driving his daughter to Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts Monday morning when a man flagged him down about an injured girl near the creek. Noriega, who went to investigate, told KTVT-Channel 11 the man disappeared shortly after that.

In two days, a GoFundMe page on behalf of the family has raised more than $30,000. Zoe’s father Jim is an art teacher at a Lake Highlands elementary school; her mother Cheryl is a nurse. Zoe was also the oldest of five children; she leaves behind three sisters and a brother.

Ginger Greenberg, who started the GoFundMe, says people will gather tomorrow at 5 p.m. at Norbuck Park to canvass the area and hand out police bulletins.
