Cedar Hill police are investigating an altercation that left a man dead and a woman injured this morning.

Around 11 a.m., police received a call about a disturbance in an alley in the 300 block of South Sims Drive.

“By the time the police showed up, it was over,” Cedar Hill spokesman Corky Brown said.

The man was dead and the woman was alive but seriously injured.

Brown said it appears the man shot the woman several times and turned the gun on himself.
