A fourth grade Mansfield math teacher who had been placed on administrative leave following allegations of indecency with a child died on Sunday.

Spencer Elementary Principal Robyn Rinearson confirmed the death of Alan Butler in an email to families.

The cause of death has not been released.

Butler was placed on leave Thursday. Mansfield ISD Police and Child Protective services are investigating the claim.
