The Texas Rangers are investigating the death of a man while in police custody early this morning, according to the University Park Police Department.

Around 12:45 a.m., University Park police responded to a report of a suspicious man in the 3900 block of Lovers Lane. An alarm-monitoring company reported seeing a man at a gate outside a home, a news release states.

Police said they found the man and tried to talk to him, but he did not cooperate.
