An inmate who hanged himself in his Fort Worth jail cell two weeks ago has died, authorities say.

Gregory Hooper, 23, of Cleburne was pronounced dead about 3:30 p.m. Sunday at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office. His manner and cause of death were suicide by asphyxiation.
