Surveillance footage shows the man breaking in around 4:40 a.m. Tuesday at the Rite Care Pharmacy in the 3400 block of St. Francis Avenue in far east Dallas. He fled with oxycodone, hydrocodone and alprazolam (otherwise known as Xanax), police said.

A man was critically wounded in a shooting in Balch Springs on Thursday night, police say.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m., Balch Springs police received calls about a man who was shot at an apartment complex in the 3300 block of Glenshire Drive.

When officers arrived they found the 26-year-old man in the courtyard area with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, Lt. Mark Maret said.

A 27-year-old man was arrested after police said he attacked an officer early Thursday in downtown Dallas.

The man, who has not been publicly identified, was sleeping in a public area near Wood and St. Paul streets when the police officer told him to wake up. The man punched the officer several times, and the officer called for back up around 5:43 a.m., Dallas police spokeswoman Melinda Gutierrez said.
